Blind Assessment

Richly sweet, deeply savory. Red currant, hop flowers, fresh-cut cedar, tamarind, spearmint in aroma and cup. Bright, sweet-savory structure with lively acidity; full, velvety mouthfeel. The short finish is flavor-saturated, consolidating in the long to notes of red currant and spearmint.

Notes

Produced at Mbeguka Estate Farm and comprised of the SL28 and Ruiri 11 varieties of Arabica. Processed by a particularly meticulous Kenya variation on the traditional wet or “washed” method, in which skin and fruit flesh are removed from the beans or seeds before they are dried. The company name Amavida combines the Spanish words for love and life, reflecting Amavida’s multifaceted commitment to fairness and fine coffee. For further information visit www.amavida.com or call 850-213-1965.

Bottom Line

A deeply sweet Kenya with classic red berry notes, bittersweet florals, and minty herb notes.
